Barratt Homes to open 17 new sites in Scotland
Barratt to open 17 new sites in Scotland: Housebuilder Barratt, the largest builder in the UK by volume, has announced plans to build 2,500 new homes in Scotland. Over the coming year, they are preparing to open 17 new sites. The announcement comes a week after Barratt announced that half year, pre-tax profits, were up 113% to over £46 million.
Barratt is planning on building 450 new homes in the Aberdeen market, 600 new homes in Inverurie, developing 5 new sites in and around Edinburgh and a further 6 sites in the west of Scotland. The builder has signed up to the Scottish Government backed MI New Home scheme, which will make these houses more accessible for first time buyers by reducing the size of deposit required.
The news shows a vote of confidence for the Scottish new build property market. The full article can be read here.
