Meet the Team
New Home Sales & Marketing
The Rettie & Co New Homes team has grown consistently since it was established in 1998 and our sales and marketing team currently service over 40 new build developments across Scotland. In this challenging market we understand the need for targeted and effective marketing campaigns supported by highly motivated sales teams. We are able to offer a bespoke specialist service in sales, marketing and consultancy & research.
Matthew graduated from Oxford University and began his career with Morgan Stanley, working in international finance in London. He then established his own consultancy business focused on the structuring and planning of high quality residential and leisure projects before joining Rettie & Co. in 1998 where he has overseen the expansion in land and development, New Homes and research teams. More recently, he has been working closely with the Scottish Government and regeneration agencies south of the border to look at new ways of stimulating house building and delivering mixed tenure affordable housing in this low grant environment. So far this has delivered over 340 units in construction or in legals. Matthew developed much of the thinking behind the Scottish Futures Trust’s current initiative and he has been developing parallel private sector led initiatives.

Becky Lindsay(Director Chief Operating Officer)
As a Director of the firm, Becky is responsible for the New Homes Sales and Marketing department providing direction to developer clients regarding sales and marketing strategies. Prior to joining Rettie & Co in 2004, Becky worked for over seven years as a senior sales manager for IKEA UK. Becky is also the Chief Operating Officer for the company, with responsibility for overseeing operational matters including marketing, new business initiatives and training and development.
Gill Eggo(Marketing Manager)
In her role as Marketing Manager, Gill not only manages the communications strategies of new homes developer clients, she also manages corporate marketing for Rettie & Co. Gill graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and Marketing in 2005. She joined the Rettie & Co. New Homes Department in January 2007 after gaining experience with another Edinburgh based property firm.
Lisa McLardy(Marketing Account Manager)
Following a degree in journalism, Lisa gained experience working in a general marketing capacity for an online media and website company and an educational non-profit organisation. She is experienced in a wide variety of marketing disciplines from PR to event management, advertising and online advertising. Lisa's appointment to the team adds further depth and strength ot our marketing service offering.
Doreen Haldane(Sales Negotiator)
Doreen joined Rettie & Co. in 2001, bringing with her 20 years experience in new homes sales with major developers. Doreen has experience in both large scale developments as well as smaller, niche developments. Having sold new build and converted properties across the country, she is very experienced within the field.
Margaret Hawker(Sales Negotiator)
Margaret started with Rettie & Co in 2005 and she brings with her a wealth of knowledge from her 16 years experience within the property industry. Margaret is currently based in the Borders where she is responsible for a number of new build developments across the region.
Craig Gillespie(Property Broker)
Craig joined Rettie & Co. in 2006. Having previously worked for a large nationwide new homes builder he has a sound understanding and concept of their operation and business approach. As senior property broker within the New Homes department, Craig is responsible for business development and also achieving and overseeing property broker sales.
Sherina Ness(Personal Assistant)
Sherina joined Rettie & Co. in April 2010 as PA to Matthew Benson. She has previous experience in the property sector having worked for FM Developments as a PA and International Sales Administrator.
