Marketing Your Property

We have expert teams of people dedicated to the sale of private residential property across Scotland. Whether it's city-centre flats or garages, family houses, rural estates, or building plots, they have in-depth knowledge of the local and national market.

Based out of Scottish offices strategically placed to gain high local footfall, our teams also have excellent contacts with relocation agents, giving us national and international marketing reach for all the properties we sell.

Our pro-active approach to marketing your property, partnered with the distinctive Rettie & Co. brand, allow us to prepare a bespoke advertising package best suited to your requirements that will reach the appropriate audience of potential buyers.

Online advertising

The principal medium for the promotion of properties is now the internet and we offer advertising packages on five complimentary websites:

www.rettie.co.uk - Our award winning website is one of Scotland's prime property sites and internet-based approaches to our firm now outnumber more conventional enquiries as a result of press advertising. Arrangements can also be made to promote your property as one of the eight headline 'properties of the week' - please click here to view current examples.

www.rightmove.co.uk - The UK's number one property website with properties for sale and rent in the UK and overseas. Two out of three successful homeowners who use the internet to search for property visit this site and it is now used by over 90% of all UK estate agents.

www.primelocation.co.uk - A popular national portal for properties for sale in the UK and overseas. It is now regarded as the 'first stop' for the internet promotion of property in the middle and upper market throughout the UK.

www.globrix.com - This ground-breaking new UK-wide property website uses 'spidering' technology to locate relevant property details from participating agents' websites and clicking on a property within Globrix links straight into our own website.

www.s1homes.com - Scotland's leading property portal, with approximately 215,000 unique house-buyers on the site every month.

We also arrange for property details to be available through our associated office on Pall, London and to be included within The London office website (www.thelondonoffice.co.uk).

Print advertising

To support the launch of your marketing campaign, we may recommend placing an advertisement in the property pages of your local and/or national papers, including the Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday, the Herald and Southern Reporter. The newspapers are still the more popular advertising medium with a section of our target audience who are less familiar with the internet.

Email alerts

There are approximately 13,000 registered users actively looking to buy on our database and daily email alerts are sent to all of our registered users on all properties matching their criteria.

We will match your property to our registered users who have viewed similar properties in recent months and approach these contacts in the first instance. Purchasers at the higher end of the market sometimes prefer this discretion and Rettie & Co are particularly well placed to assist in this capacity.

Sales particulars

There are a range of different styles of brochure available and in current market conditions we do not usually recommend incurring excessive costs on brochure production. Instead we will talk through your options and find a cost effective solution that allows a bigger budget for advertising. We will usually recommend appointing a professional photographer to convey the property in the best possible way and also include floor plans and an Ordnance Survey extract plan as a useful reference point for viewers.

'For Sale' Board

A 'For Sale' board is a traditional and cost effective method of promoting your property at the start of a sales campaign. Boards act as a useful signpost for both passers-by and viewers coming to see your property.
