Changes to government guidance in Scotland

The Scottish Government has announced changes to their guidance meaning that people who wish to move home are now able to do so. This link provides details of the changes and Rettie & Co. will be working in line with this guidance going forward.

Visiting the branch

Since some restrictions have been lifted, we have now reopened our branches. These branches can be visited by appointment only and social distancing measures are in place ensure we facilitate branch meetings safely. There is also hand sanitiser available for all visitors to the branch and enhanced cleaning procedures are now in effect.

At Rettie, we have been operating throughout the lockdown by carrying out virtual valuations and viewings via video on phone.

We will continue to offer virtual property appraisals for all clients. For those who would like a member of the Rettie team to visit their property for a valuation, we now have protocols in place to allow us to do this safely, helping to protect your wellbeing, as well as that of our team. We will discuss these procedures with you, ahead of your appointment, to ensure you are entirely comfortable with how it will be carried out.

To help protect our clients and out team, physical viewings will be reduced to minimise the number of people visiting a property. All interested parties will be invited to attend a virtual viewing first, and only those looking to make an offer should then attend a physical viewing at the property itself.

Vendors and landlords will be given clear guidance on how to prepare the property for viewings ahead of time and viewers will also be given information on what to expect.

Further information is provided in our detailed viewings protocol, which will be made available to all clients.
