Proactive Asset Management & maintaining communities in the COVID-19 world
To celebrate this year's Scottish Housing Day the Build to Rent at Rettie & Co. are sharing their stories and what housing means to them.
With the new normal constantly evolving we have had to remain fluid in our approach of maintaining the asset, whilst also ensuring our residents know customer service is of the upmost importance.
I have ensured that regular site visits of the common areas are being undertaken to allow me to manage maintenance proactively as opposed to reactively. Which in turn results in a better experience for residents as well as reducing maintenance costs for the Landlord.
I have also encouraged residents to report any maintenance issues as soon as they are identified so that these can be dealt with in a timely manner, therefore reducing any inconvenience to residents. I also manage residents’ expectations of timescales for maintenance reported to be completed by sending them regular updates as I receive them.
This combined effort as resulted in not only the asset being maintained to an excellent standard but also encouraging residents to take pride in their home and seeing results when issues are reported.
