Braehead is a town eight miles south west of Glasgow, within East Renfrewshire. It is on the edge of the Gleniffer Braes. It is a busy town with three major supermarkets having stores, and is home to Kelburn Brewing and Barrhead Travel. There are good local transport links, and within the town there are five primary schools and two secondary schools. For sports enthusiasts, Scottish Junior footbal team, Arthurlie are based here, famous for winning the Scottish Junior Cup in 1998; and there are also four bowling clubs, the Fereneze Golf Club and a boxing club.
