East Meikle Pinkerton Farm is a primarily arable farm situated in a favoured farming district known for its excellent sunshine hours and relatively low rainfall in a Scottish context.

Location

East Meikle Pinkerton Farm is situated to the south of the A1, about 2 miles southeast of Dunbar in a favoured farming district. Dunbar is one of the larger towns of East Lothian and has grown significantly over the past 20 years and now offers a good range of retail, recreational and leisure facilities. In addition to some great schooling, transport links and some of Scotland’s finest golf courses.

Lot 1: Farmhouse and Steading

The Farmhouse is primarily built of stone under slate roofs with brick chimney heads and is mostly harled/rendered externally. The Gross Internal Floor Area extends to about 3216 ft2 in all. The Farmhouse benefits from oil-fired central heating on its ground floor. The Farm Steading neighbours the Farmhouse with the gardens partly situated within the Steading buildings. The gardens are therefore sheltered and a sun trap. The farm buildings are of rare originality with substantial character incorporating both dressed and rubble stone alongwith pantile and slate roofs, some of which have been renewed with sheeting.

The Paddocks

There are 5 paddocks in all totalling about 11.5 acres, primarily lying to the south and east of the Farmhouse and Steading Range. Lot 2, Farmlands South is the largest on the farm, consistsing of 190.2 acres of farmland, with Lot 2, Farmlands North, is about 50.9 acres. Lot 3, 4 and 5 make up the reminder of the paddocks. The Farm sold as a whole at closing date in October 2022.
