Staying at home in the UK for our breaks will be on the cards for most of us this year. There is no greater place to visit than Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland.
Edinburgh is easy to get around on foot, and by walking you are able to explore the cities many hidden gems from its views to it’s historic and magical Closes in the old town.
We are ever hopeful that by Summer this year the city will be open again and ready to welcome you to its many attractions.
The cities Old Town and New Town combined are listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites
In Edinburgh’s Old Town you’ll find Edinburgh Castle and it’s breath taking views which sweep over the city centre and beyond to the Firth of Forth. The Old Town also has St.Giles’ Cathedral, the renowned Grassmarket, the Scottish National Museum and the Scottish Parliament building as well as Arthurs Seat.
From the New Town, you’ll be able to discover Princes Street and George Street which offer a variety of shopping experiences and a selection of galleries for those who love art. St Andrew Square Gardens, the much photographed Calton Hill, and the renowned shopping at Multrees Walk which is home to Harvey Nichols, Mulberry, Louis Vuitton to name a few are all within a short walk of each other.
If you love taking photos to capture your memories then Edinburgh won’t disappoint with it’s array of beautiful architecture, quirky Mews, cobbled streets, parks, cafes, bars and restaurants.
