The annual Wimbledon Tennis Championships have returned to the grass courts this week, and with all eyes on the action at this favourite summer sporting event, why not take to the courts yourselves to get in the spirit. In this blog we serve up some of our properties complete with their very own private tennis court. What better way to perfect your serve or topspin forehand than with your own court to practice on?
Check out some of the wonderful properties with tennis courts that are currently on the market with us below:
West Mains of Huntingtower, Perth, PH1
A period country house, secluded amidst distinguished private grounds to the West of Perth, with 2 cottages, outbuildings, and charismatic gardens.
Mature grounds, extending to approximately 4.4 acres, with an abundance of character, with sweeping lawns, an Orchard area, a Walled Garden, a Tennis Court, an Amenity Paddock and a Copse of Woodland.
Templeknowe, St. Boswells, Melrose, TD6
A beautifully positioned, substantial 9-bedroom Edwardian country home situated in an accessible yet secluded position in the heart of the Scottish Borders. Sitting in approximately 19.35 acres of grazing land and formal gardens with two semi-detached cottages, a 7 loose box stable block and a tennis court, this historical property has the potential to be a fabulous family home with both income and development potential.
Glencarse House stands amongst splendid established gardens and policies, primarily looking southwards over its lawns and the neighbouring farmlands towards Fife on the south side of the Firth of Tay. Glencarse is a handsome house, notable for its well-proportioned rooms, which almost without exception, are south facing and flooded with natural light as well as an impressive array of period features.
The gardens at Glencarse are a notable feature. Beyond the gardens to the southeast is an all-weather Tennis Court overlooked by a rustic Summer House with tiled roof and leaded stained-glass windows alongside carved wooden walls.
Ross Hill House
A stunning B-listed historic family home surrounded by mature gardens with far-reaching views over the Bridges crossing the Firth of Forth.
The gardens at Rosshill are stunning. At the bottom of the garden a stone paved viewing platform overlooks a former tennis court which is now a flat lawn flanked by shrub and herbaceous borders - a little bit of work required, but the flat lawn could be reinstated to it's former glory as a grass court, or indeed an all-weather surface could be achieved in this space.
If you need any help finding a home with it’s very own centre court, or are looking to sell your property complete with a tennis court, contact your local Rettie & Co. branch.
