Throughout 2022, Rettie have been supporting a number of charities throughout different areas of the business and this is an important area of our work.
As part of our 31 Days of Rettie and our sharing Saturday theme, we have been supporting a number of different charities through several initiatives, and with the year drawing to a close, we look back at the work we’ve done over the past year:
Turcan Connels Charity Hockey Tournament
In August, Rettie entered a team into the Turcan Connell hockey tournament, raising money for Support in Mind. The event raised in excess of £10,000 for the charity.
Maja’s 7 Hills of Edinburgh charity walk
In September, Maja Wright, Rettie & Co. Payroll Assistant, tackled the 7 Hills of Edinburgh to raise money for Maggie’s Centre. The group walked a total of 25km at an 875m ascent and ended the challenge raising an amazing £2,261 for charity.
Shine Night Walk for Cancer Research UK
In October, Rettie & Co. Customer Experience Consultant, Nikky Halluman, took part in a 10km shine night walk raising money for Cancer Research in UK. This was in memory of her dad.
Foodbank Donations
Throughout November and December, the Rettie & Co. team collected essential items for foodbanks, to help those who need it most at Christmas.
Our Newton Mearns, Shawlands, Glasgow West End, Glasgow Bath Street, Bearsden and Edinburgh Lettings & Sales teams all held collections to support local foodbank charities.
Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day
On the 8th of December, the Rettie & Co. team took part in the Save the Children UK’s annual Christmas Jumper Day. Our staff all sported their most fabulous jumpers in the office, or from their home offices to raise money for the charity. As a team we raised over £200.
Christmas Raffle
At the Rettie Christmas party, we held a charity raffle raising money for Crisis – a charity which mobilises support for homeless people.
We were lucky enough to have some amazing donations from a number of our associates and suppliers, which helped us raise a total of £2670. With Rettie matching this amount, that's an amazing £5340 for the charity.
2023
Looking forward to 2023, Rettie pledge to continue their important charity work.
Our charity committee have decided that this year we will be supporting Barnardo's - a charity who helps hundreds of thousands of children, young people, parents and carers across the UK. We believe their work supporting young people leaving care and also experiencing the challenge of homelessness resonates in particular with our brand and values.
