Key Findings
- Since the financial crisis, the Scottish private rented sector (PRS) has grown to now represent 15% of all Scottish households and more than one-quarter of all households in Edinburgh.
- The sector is also providing housing for a wider demographic than previously – there are now around 90,000 families in the PRS in Scotland.
- Institutional investors are looking now to continue this growth – Legal & General are the latest to announce plans for a Scottish Build to Rent scheme (324 units in Glasgow).
