The latest of our new homes bulletins has been released. The findings have come from our carefully researched data courtesy of the Rettie & Co. Research Team, Scotland’s largest dedicated property research department.
Key Findings:
- Scotland’s housing supply rose again in 2017/18 to reach nearly 18,000 units, but still somewhat short of the 23,000 annual target set a few years ago.
- The Scottish Government’s £1bn investment in social house building to meet its 5-year 50,000 target has seen a significant increase in approvals to reach target levels but completions are still lagging.
- New mechanisms are continuing to emerge to tackle Scotland’s housing crisis, with PfP Capital having secured Scottish Government funding to source a pipeline of 1,000 affordable homes.
