The latest of our sales bulletins has been released. The findings have come from our carefully researched data courtesy of the Rettie Research Team, Scotland’s largest dedicated property research department.
Key Findings
• Seems clear evidence of a flattening of the housing market over the last 6 months, with little change in average prices and market activity levels as well subdued lending figures.
• The main Scottish cities all saw a drop back in activity levels at the end of 2016, with Aberdeen down 16% in Q4 2016 compared to the previous year and Glasgow and Edinburgh both down 5%.
• Lending to home movers in Scotland dropped back 9% in Q4 2016 compared to the previous year, although first-time buyer lending rose marginally.
